I have been specialising in foot and ankle surgery for over 8 years. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with and learning from world-renowned experts. Currently, I am an established Consultant at the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Foundation Trust, one of the busiest major trauma centres in the UK. On a daily basis, I handle a wide range of foot and ankle problems, from simple cases to complex injuries and long-standing conditions.
My main focus is on professional development and innovation. I am particularly passionate about Minimally Invasive Surgery and have introduced four groundbreaking surgical techniques to the North Midlands region. These techniques have shown excellent results in patients with complex forefoot problems, severe calcaneal fractures, and Achilles tendon-related conditions.
Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to thrive in different cultural environments, both professionally and personally. I graduated from the top medical university in Belarus and further pursued trauma research, earning a PhD in Medical Sciences from Osaka University, one of the top medical schools in Japan. I have completed my CCT in Trauma and Orthopaedics training in the highly prestigious South Yorkshire Orthopaedic rotation in 2016. This journey has enhanced my personal and interpersonal skills, and I genuinely enjoy connecting with people from diverse backgrounds.

Meet Mr. Pavel Akimau
Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon
Mr Akimau has been working as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospitals of North Staffordshire NHS Trust since 2021. Patients’ wellbeing and genuine willingness to help has always been Mr Akimau top priority.
